ABOUT BARNABY

British/Irish bass Barnaby Rea "boasts a commanding stage presence and a rich bass voice" (Financial Times). A former Harewood Artist at English National Opera (2013-16) he was a member of the Oper Frankfurt solo ensemble from 2016-21.

Recent seasons have see Barnaby perform at houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Real Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra de Lyon, Oper Frankfurt, Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse and Opernhaus Zurich in roles such a Bottom A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sparafucile Rigoletto, Baron Zeta Die Lustige Witwe, Truffaldin Ariadne auf Naxos, Hobson Peter Grimes and Colline La Boheme.
